History- USS Lynx

The USS Lynx began its journey as a correspondence chapter of STARFLEET International. The crew started out as just a friendly group of friends who shared Star Trek and Science Fiction in common.

On 199311.01 the Shuttle Lynx NCC-71817/01 was officially launched as a STARFLEET Chapter in the Republic of South Korea at a US Army installation called Camp Casey. The Shuttle Lynx was launched from the USS Freedom NCC-71817 based out of Ft. Bragg, NC and commanded by Fleet Captain Paul C. Dyl who was just beginning a 1-year tour of duty at Camp Casey. Over the next 9 months the chapter will organize the chapters departments, membership materials, a chapter newsletter and chapter activities. The USS Lynx was the first chapter to register with the STARFLEET Armed Forces Program.

After the shuttle phase was completed, the Shuttle Lynx was officially commissioned as the USS Lynx NCC-8491.

The USS Lynx eventually decommissioned around 199712.31 after a rift formed between members of the USS Lynx and STARFLEET International HQ.

During the five-month shakedown cruise, members of the USS Lynx worked on things such as a chapter handbook, department organization but also participated in the Recycling Program, Box Tops for Education and Food Collection for a local church food closet.

Upon the completion of her five-month shakedown cruise, the Shuttle Lynx was officially commissioned as the USS Lynx NCC-8491 on September 22, 2022
