USS Gallifrey NCV-4744391

The USS Gallifrey NCC-4744391 is a chapter-member of STARFLEET TASK FORCE 31 located in Whiteville, North Carolina.

For over 6 years, Task Force 31 has provided Star Trek fans a way to meet each other, make friends, have fun and experience the dream of Gene Roddenberry.  On the local level, members can gather with other fans for a variety of enjoyable activities.  On the national level, Task Force 31 offers our members a wealth of resources matching or exceeding the other Star Trek fan clubs that are out there.  In addition to a great set of membership materials and our new electronic newsletter, Task Force 31 offers members the chance to get involved by helping to make Task Force 31 one of the best fan clubs available. We are currently working on the creation of the Task Force 31 Starfleet Academy and expanding our very own Task Force 31 MACOs and much, much more to come with your help.

Task Force 31 Chapters are grouped into Sectors, each Sector covering a different geographical area with the United States of America.  These sectors are encouraged to hold gatherings where crews of many Chapters get together for summits, parties, charity activities, and a whole range of other activities.

Task Force 31 is further divided into a few dozen of local Chapters at this time, each named as a different starship or space station.  Chapters are where the members of Task Force 31 get together locally to make friends, meet, and have a fun time.  Our many Chapters are currently spread out in 5 states of the United States of America.

Task Force 31 Chapters range in size from 5 members to over 25+.  Some get together and meet in person while others are correspondence Chapters where members who live far away from each other can still exchange messages via e-mail, telephone, and even good, old-fashioned postal mail

The chapter was formed in December 2014 and the fictional timeline of the chapter was originally set in the 29th century. To help you understand the timeline, The Star Trek: Voyager series ended in the Trek calendar of 2378; Star Trek: Nemesis movie was set in the Trek calendar year do 2379.

Originally inspired by “Star Trek”, the USS Gallifrey is a science fiction and fantasy fan club that embraces anything from Captain James Kirk to Doctor Who.

The USS Gallifrey also participates in many events that includes, but is not limited to: Cookouts, movies, parties or celebrations, trips to local tourist attractions, and Sci-Fi conventions.

When a person signs aboard the USS Gallifrey, the member may choose to serve within one of the chapter’s departments:

Membership to the USS Gallifrey is open to any Task Force 31 member in good standing, although the USS Gallifrey is classified as a correspondence chapter, so we use several communications mediums to keep in touch and reach the membership base. At present we use the old standards of land-mail and telephone tree, as well as the Internet such as: email, listserv, Facebook, messaging and video conferencing.

Each member of the USS Gallifrey is entitled to and will receive the following in an electronic format:

We’re also dedicated to making the world a better place. Not all members participate in our community service projects. To understand further, let’s beam down for a moment to Afghanistan, where U.S. soldiers have received care packages from USS Gallifrey members. Back in North Carolina, we’ve collected Labels for Education and during the holidays we collect donations for the areas Toys for Tots campaign and the Angel Tree Project. We’ve also participated in food can drives and recycling.

That’s just an example of how our community service is actually global service and because of our efforts to embrace the ideals of “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry, we’re doing our part to meet his vision of a better world.

To see what we do, check out our newsletter, “THE TARDIS”.
