History of the USS Seawolf

The USS Seawolf was founded by several individuals who would meet to watch Star Trek Discovery and other Sci-Fi series and movies. Once Covid 19 hit, all those activities had to stop and instead members would communicate via email.

During this time, we started calling ourselves the USS Seawolf which is currently the name of a USN Nuclear Submarine called the USS Seawolf.

After talking and encouragement by members of the USS Helen Pawlowski (Warwick, RI) and the USS Panther (Tiverton, RI) which several individuals of our group were members of, decided to become a correspondence chapter of Starfleet Task Force 31 for the Fall River, MA area.

On September 27, 2021, we officially launched as the USS Seawolf NX-74709 and with the USS Helen Pawlowski as our Support Chapter, we began our nine-month shakedown cruise.

During these nine months we would work on the chapter structure, membership materials, website and completing the required training.

With all requirements completed early, the Command Staff requested to move up the commissioning date. The request was approved, and the USS Seawolf NCC-74709 was officially commissioned on June 1, 2022.

The USS Seawolf now leaves Space Dock and heads out to her assigned patrol area.

USS Seawolf (SSN-21), is a nuclear powered fast attack submarine and the lead ship of her class. She is the fourth submarine of the United States Navy named for the seawolf, a solitary fish with strong, prominent teeth that give it a savage look.

The nation’s newest and most advanced attack submarine Seawolf (SSN 21) puts to sea in the Narragansett Bay operating area for her first at-sea trial operations on July 3, 1996. Sea trials include various tests of the Seawolf propulsion systems and the first underway submergence of the submarine. The Seawolf represents the Navy’s most advanced quieting technology, weaponry, tactical capability and communications.
